Alison Cole produces a lineage resolved single cell atlas of nematode development.

The soil nematode Caenorhabditis elegans is a powerful model system for understanding deterministic development. The entire adult worm is generated through ten cycles of stereotypical cell divisions (and some programed cell deaths) and is composed of only ~1000 somatic cells. The dataset presented in this paper covers the first seven cell cycles, with all cells manually collected from dissociated single embryos, allowing for an embryo and cell lineage resolved annotation of the profiled single cell transcriptomes.
