About us

Neuroscience, developmental biology, and evolutionary biology. These are all very interesting and important areas of research. Understanding how complex neural circuitry arises in development is crucial for understanding how the nervous system functions, and how it can go awry in neurological and psychiatric disorders. Similarly, understanding how the activity of neuronal networks regulates animal behavior can help us understand how animals respond to their environment and make decisions, as well as how we can potentially influence or alter behavior. Finally, understanding how animal genomes, body plans, and cell types evolved can give us insight into the evolution of different species and the mechanisms that drive evolution. These are all challenging problems, but studying them can lead to a deeper understanding of the natural world and potentially have practical applications as well.
