Qi Zhou’s group has contributed to the recent Nature paper published as a cover story. The work has produced and analyzed 363 bird species’ genomes and comprise an important resource for future biodiversity studies. This massive database now allows finer characterization of genes and regulatory elements related to avian phenotype. Zongji Wang and Qi Zhou contributed 12 species’ genomes from Palaeognathae (ostrich, emu and tinamous etc.) lineage.
