Dr. Varsha Mathur has received the Gertrud Pleskot Award from the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Vienna. The award supports young female scientists at an early stage of their scientific careers and recognizes excellent publication output. Varsha’s research focuses on the evolution and cell biology of marine microbial parasites, particularly parasite interactions with diatoms and their broader ecological significance in marine ecosystems.
